Andi Darmawansyah or Wawan completed his education in the Department of Biology, Hasanuddin University. Wawan was a laboratory assistant and volunteer for the Mangrove Action Project (MAP) in Indonesia. Since then, Wawan has been involved in many ecological surveys starting from the Panikiang Islands, South Sulawesi; Tiwoho, North Sulawesi; Pontianak and Gorontalo. Wawan also acted as the Ecology Consultant for the Coastal Ecosystem Resilience program in Tanakeke Islands. Wawan’s capabilities in identifying the animal and plant specifications outlined in an environmental education curriculum book in 2015. In the same year, Wawan worked for the USAID-LESTARI program in Asmat, Papua as the Mangrove Co-management Officer.
