Novan memiliki banyak pengalaman dalam melakukan pendampingan masyarakat dan memiliki keahlian dibidang GIS. Awal bergabung dengan Blue Forests Novan bertugas mendampingi masyarakat, LPHD, dan Pemdes di bidang livelihood maupun peningkatan kapasitas dalam menyusun peraturan untuk Perlindungan Hutan Mangrove.
