Setelah lulus, Ishak terlibat sebagai volunteer di WWF sebagai bagian dari tim pemetaan. Selain itu, selama tiga tahun, Ishak bekerja sebagai koordinator lapangan di LMMA Indonesia. Berkat pengalaman ini, Ishak merasa tertarik untuk terus mengadvokasi hak-hak masyarakat
