Cottonwood Foundation with the Zoological Society of London, Global Green Grants, Christensen Fund, Working Assets, Marisla Foundation in collaboration with the Samudera Laksana Foundation and Riau University through the Ecological Mangrove Rehabilitation and Livelihoods Program project to rehabilitate abandoned ponds covering 43 hectares and forming farmer groups in 2005 to 2007.
In 2004, the Cottonwood Foundation also supported the Ecological Mangrove Rehabilitation project in the village of Tiwoho, North Sumatra with the Seacology Foundation and the Goldman Foundation.
