"Local to global to local"

We want to preserve ecosystems holistically and systemically in coastal areas and watersheds to respond to world concerns about deteriorating environmental quality through participatory activities.

Frequently Asked Question

We believe in balance and cycles. If the forest is green, seawater and the sky will be blue. We conduct environmental conservation activities and it is important to think long from upstream to downstream and think holistically.

Our founders come from different cultures and disciplines backgrounds. Blue Forests Foundation is a metamorphosis of the “Yayasan Akar Rumput Laut (YARL)” with the learning process of applying participatory action research and community development methods. YARL then became Mangrove Action Project (MAP Indonesia) which worked a lot in the mangrove area, an important ecosystem in Indonesia but was not given enough attention to cause damage and quickly function.

Over time, MAP adjust its vision and mission and expand to watersheds, then became the Blue Forests Foundation.

Most of our team starts with voluntary participation. We are very happy if many people have a high desire for volunteerism and want to study at our organization. We open the door as wide as possible to accept the desire. Stay tuned for more information on our website and social media.

We will publish job vacancies through our website or our social media. We will explain in as much detail as possible our human resource needs and opportunities to join our organization. Stay tune!

We really appreciate the enthusiasm to carry out mangrove rehabilitation around the coast of Indonesia. But planting mangrove is not an absolute method in rehabilitation activities because we need to pay attention to suitability of the land before we conduct rehabilitation.

This aims to prevent and reduce the impact of failure in mangrove rehabilitation efforts.
