Rio holds a bachelor’s degree from the Department of Biology, Hasanuddin University. In 2012, Rio worked at the Mangrove Action Project Indonesia as an Environmental Field Staff and EMR Officer for the Restoring Coastal Livelihood program. After that, Rio worked on the USAID IFACS project in Mimika, Papua and the Coastal Ecosystem Resilience project in Tanakeke, South Sulawesi to restore 100 ha of damaged ecosystems. Rio then became a Project Manager for the USAID LESTARI program in Papua. Starting in 2018, Rio has been assigned to lead the Blue Forests as Director.
