BACKGROUND

Yayasan Hutan Biru (YHB) or Blue Forests is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing damage and restoring mangrove ecosystems around the world. The main objective of YHB is to promote the rights of local traditional communities, including fishermen and farmers, in managing the environment in a sustainable manner. Through a global network and representatives in the United States (head office), Thailand (Asia regional office), Indonesia (MAP-Indonesia), and Latin America, YHB facilitates the ideas and information exchange on mangrove conservation, alternative livelihoods development, and environmental education.

YHB was established in Yogyakarta in 2011 as a replacement for and a successor to Indonesia’s MAP programs, previously known as the Yayasan Akar Rumput Laut (YARL) which was formed in 2001. YHB is a non-profit, non-partisan, and the main basis for preserving the ecosystem holistically and systemically in coastal areas and in watersheds in response to world concerns about environmental degradation through participatory activities. The Blue Forests’ paradigm movement is “local to global to local“.

 

PROGRAM

  • Social, economic, and ecological studies / research in watersheds and coastal areas.
  • Sustainable land rehabilitation and conservation which aims to maintain and improve the environment, particularly watershed and coastal systems.
  • Environmental education to provide understanding and awareness to related parties in watersheds and coastal areas.
  • Livelihood development to improve the living standard as well as empower the local community’s economy.
  • Information / activity centers development for the community and related parties in watershed and coastal areas.
  • Advocacy and disseminate learning and smart practices in watershed and coastal management.

 

OBJECTIVE

Finance & Administration Assistant will be responsible for verifying and reviewing all financial transactions and managing all payments including organization tax reports. This position is under Finance Manager supervision and will coordinate with the relevant project team members. Finance & Administration Assistant also provides administrative support and logistics procurement if needed.

TASKS

 

  1. Ensure the consistency of financial management systems, procedures, and controls in accordance with the organization’s SOP.
  2. Create tax payment billing ID and tax reporting.
  3. Make proof of withholding tax deposits and provide a copy to each staff and consultant for the annual Tax Return (SPT) reporting process.
  4. Verify submission of ToR activities budget, office operational needs, goods procurement, consultants, payment request, and advance submission and reporting based on the provisions of the organization’s SOP.
  5. Assist in monitoring the program funds use.
  6. Prepare monthly financial reports in accordance with the organization’s SOP financial reporting standards.
  7. Coordinate with Finance Manager and program team members regarding financial issues and coordinate with tax agencies related to the organization tax obligations.
  8. Support the administrative duties of the organization operational team if needed.

 

Requirement

Education

Minimum D3 in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, or other relevant fields.

Experience

Minimum 1 year experience in non-profit finance, taxation, or other relevant fields.

Competencies

  1. Have knowledge about the tax obligations of non-profit organizations or foundations, including: PPh article 19, PPh article 21, PPh article 23, PPh article 25, PPh article 26 and PPh article 29.
  2. Have basic accounting knowledge, administration and relevant experience.
  3. Familiar and mastering the following website / application: E-filling system from Pajak.go.id, Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Communication (e-mail, conference meeting).
  4. Good communication skills both verbally and written in Indonesian and English.
  5. Be able to work independently or with a team.
  6. Detail oriented and be able to organize documents well.
  7. Have good analytical and problem-solving skills.
