The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is deeply involved in promoting sustainable land use, to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, sequester carbon, maintain and enhance ecological functions, and provide sustainable development. This sustainable lands work includes protecting, restoring, and enhancing coastal ecosystems, including mangroves. The USAID Climate Economic Analysis for Development, Investment, and Resilience (CEADIR) Task Order provides technical assistance and financing to accomplish these goals. To demonstrate the value of mangrove ecosystems, including non-market valuse, and demonstrate methods for quantifying
values of mangrove ecosystems, CEADIR will quantify values of two different mangrove areas in Indonesia. This work will assist USAID missions and selected partner governments in quantifying the potential costs as and benefits of mangrove ecosystem services and other outputs of mangrove systems.
Scope pre-selected regions in Indonesia with the goal of selecting potential sites for adaptation and replication of Blue Ventures Conservation's integrated approach to community-led mangrove forest and fisheries management.
